It has been a long time since I covered a club event since I do not like staying up late anymore. But since this event did not last too late, I went at 6 to the Sassy Prom, a sort of mock gay drag prom. It was a lot of fun. Good performers and costumes.

I went on a short vacation with my family to Orlando. I enjoyed it for the most part. I had a feeling it was just for children but there were things of interest to adults there also. I took my small travel camera so I only got 100 or so photos (nothing in my opinion). I am sharing a few here.

I went again for a day trip to the downtown area as I felt the need to get urban. I first went to the central library and noticed how it has gotten an increased population of homeless people. I feel strongly that the situation for homeless in LA (and california) is unacceptable. They are allowed to hang out on streets and sidewalks while they roam on buses for free in between each dumpster they ravage for old cans. Most of them are mentally ill and should be cared for by way of institutions. But since Reagan did away with all that, we now live in what seems like a third world country even when there are fancy boutiques on the corner. It is degrading to our neighborhoods, and thus I am hopeful that either our mayor or our governor will find a solution to this problem.

Took another day trip down to an area of Long Beach called Belmont Shore and Naples. Its pretty upscale. There is a canal there similar to venice but nicer. The weather was quite nice so I had a nice afternoon.

I have a friend who works at the faire and got me free tickets. So I figured out the mass transit options to get there and went. I had a really nice afternoon with all the performers and perfect weather. I took several photos of course. I got some awesome shots with people in their costumes.
