Apartment Hunting

Sample headshots

I am looking to move into a place of my own. I went today and walked around Koreatown area of LA. I looked at a few places but have not put in applications as of yet. If anyone reading knows of something reasonable but not dumpy, please let me know :) I currently live in west hollywood in a condo with a doctor. It is not horrible. But I feel like living by myself now. It can be taxing to have to worry about someone else’s idiosyncrasies. The two things that bother me about this current room mate are: He refuses to lock doors most of the time so I have to do it. Luckily I leave after he does, so that is not too big of a deal. The other issue is his pets. They make a mess from time to time and it can be a bit gross. Oh and occasionally he will play his television too loudly when I want to sleep. So I am trying to find a place in a quiet building for not a lot of money. I do not need anything fancy. I just want a small space that has enough electricity for my computer and a/c unit so I am comfortable. That is all I need.

A word about Mickys and Cocktails Host

It has taken a lot of thought on my part to be sure that I am justified in what I am about to type. And I feel that the following is accurate. First, I worked with Mickys night club for several years and was certain they were happy with me and my photo work. However, they made a lame excuse for telling me they no longer wanted my services. They claimed that since I was selling photos from my website without their permission, that surprised them and bothered them. As if that did them some kind of harm. It did nothing but made me a few dollars and promoted the events held at their club. I also have a strong feeling that Dennis has always disliked me and just found this opportunity to ask Michael to stop using my photography. That being said, I feel that Mickys is run unprofessionally and would suggest not going to their events or club. Although they are right on the boulevard, they have nothing more to offer our community. Secondly, I have spoken to Scott Boardman several times during this transgression. I felt like he was somewhat of a friend and colleague. He seemed to like me as well as my work. When Dennis asked me to no longer come to cover Cocktails with the Stars, I asked Scott to go to bat for me and see if I could continue to cover the event in some capacity. But he refused to get involved, and personally I think it is because he feels his hosting position may be closing soon. I do not think he has the stage presence that Jason did and all of the thursday patrons tell me he puts them to sleep. From what is reported, attendance to the event has slowly dwindled to almost 5 people total. That says a lot. I recently asked Scott if I could come to an event unrelated to Mickys, and he made a lame excuse and said no, then called me crazy and said he never considered me a friend. Well that is fine Scott, I guess you never were a friend when you act like that. I wish you well in what ever you do but hope your experience as host has taught you a few things. I do good work and I am friendly and never say anything bad about anyone. I try to be social with patrons while I photograph. And only on a few occasions have I said something which I regretted. In this instance I feel the truth should be known about Mickys and Scott. Thanks for reading.

I have not done any photo work in several days and feel like I need to find more work to do. I plan on going to Fubar tomorrow night for Dirty Deeds hosted by Chi Chi LaRue. I figure it should be an alternative to shooting porn night at (m)Ickys. They have been making seriously bad decisions and burning bridges left and right. I left a barrage of emails and voice mails for Mary Ann, the general manager. She did not have the professional courtesy to return any of them. So I just feel I will move on past this club and find some new things to photograph. I also spoke with Paul V about Dragstrip66. He said they are on hiatus until October but should be fine for me to come back to take pictures then. The new venue will be Safari Sams. I have not been but its in hollywood and seemed better (less sketchy) than the one in Echo Park.

I have been trying to determine the best way for me to make more money since lately my photography isnt bringing in that much.  Do not get me wrong.  I really am glad I do photography and enjoy the art/work.  But it just does not bring the income I would like.  So I been trying to come up with ideas of how to earn some extra cash, other than selling my cock.  One idea suggested was to paint my face and go work in front of Graumans.  Allow tourists to take my picture for a few bucks each.  I might do it.  Have yet to decide if the option will work for me.  Another idea presented was to find a part time job in any retail store like a bookstore.  I did apply to Borders but they either are not hiring or are not interested.  I am sure of one thing.  I do not want to return to the corporate job that I had as a technology consultant before I grew the mohawk.  Sure, I had plenty of money.  But I felt that my life behind a desk daily was pretty dull.
