Rose Parade Tomorrow

drakes-20th-anniv-006s.jpg

I plan on going early in the morning tomorrow to see the Rose Parade in Pasadena.  For some reason, I never thought it was so easy to access by transit.  But it is.  Soooo, I am going bright and early as it begins at 8am.  I am past the age of wanting to stay up all night during new years eve getting drunk or attending a bar with other drunken people.  Thus I will be spending a quiet evening at home tonight.  I do have a simple resolution to stop biting my finger nails.  I have done it since I was a kid and it makes my hands ugly.  I need to quit doing it completely.  I have tried doing it less but being an obsessive personality, it can be tough at times.

To Browse or not to Browse

Me

I have been using firefox by mozilla.com for a few years now as it seems less of a resource hog than internet explorer when browsing the web.  But lately it seems slower to me.  So since I like playing with technology changes, I installed opera.  I like it as it seems faster and sleeker.  If you wanna try it, visit www.opera.com and for adblock addition, edit urlfilter.ini in %APPDATA%\opera\opera\profile directory and add the following file and contents:  http://www.fanboy.co.nz/adblock/opera/urlfilter.ini

Redid My Hair

dscn2129s.jpg

Its a lot of work to wash and dye my hair so I tend not to do it unless it really has the hairspray built up so badly that it starts to look imperfect.  So after about two weeks, its time to wash, condition, dry, dye, set.  I sound like a hair dresser huh?  Total time for all of it is about two hours.  I like being creative with my look and such, but doubt I would enjoy doing it for others.  I like being a photographer and being behind the camera most of the time :)

Diane Arbus , a photographer with similar work

Above are some samples of her work along with a short biography below. Diane Arbus (March 14, 1923 – July 26, 1971) was an American photographer, noted for her portraits of people on the fringes of society, such as transvestites, dwarfs, giants, prostitutes, and ordinary citizens in poses and settings conveying a disturbing uncanniness.  View biography.

For Mom, Merry Xmas Eve

mathis.jpgOlder photo of Johnny Mathis

I felt all oogie and nostalgic when I heard Johnny Mathis singing on the radio today. It was a christmas song. My mom is a big fan of his and has been since she was a girl. So here is a biography of this most famous singer for those of you who are younger and may not know of him. Wiki entry for Johnny Mathis
